A camp week, hour by hour
Monday arrival to Friday departure, and where the quiet hours sit.
2 September 2026
Schools ask for the shape of the week before they ask for anything else, because it decides transport, staff cover and the letter that goes to parents. Here it is in plain terms.
Monday
Arrival from 13:00. Tent allocation, site orientation and the rules happen before anything else, so the group knows the boundaries while it is still light. Supper at 17:00, one evening activity, lights out early because everyone is more tired than they think.
Tuesday to Thursday
Breakfast between 07:00 and 08:30. A morning block, usually at the beach while it is cool. Lunch from 12:00. An afternoon block on the lawns. Supper at 17:00, then the evening session and the fire.
Friday
Breakfast, pack up, a site walk with the teachers and departure at 09:00. Buses booked for 09:00 leave at 09:00, which is why pack up starts before breakfast.
Where the quiet is
The hour after lunch is deliberately low energy, and the last half hour of the fire is unstructured. Both matter. A camp with no gaps in it produces a group that stops listening by Wednesday.
